In 1999, middle school years, this is a term I felt deeply when I was getting permission to go on a school trip. I went to my mother first to get permission; she said if your father says yes, you can. Then I went to my father, and he said, let your mother say yes first. In summary, I could not go on a trip thanks to the wonderful cooperation between the two parents even without realizing it.😀

If you ask where it came first, a pilot named Captain John Yossarian tries to find a solution to escape the war during World War II. Yossarian finds an Air Force rule that says the soldier can be removed from his flight mission if he's crazy. Of course, it is an example of insanity for him to risk his life by continuing dangerous flights. But only madmen fly that plane, knowing that he will die.
While he thinks he has found a way to save his life, he also realizes that it is not crazy to ask to be removed from the flight mission because he is unwilling to risk her life and unfortunately cannot escape from flying.
In short, this term is used for situations where you cannot find a way out, based on the problem of a complete vicious circle.
Dozens of examples come to mind when you think about it. For example, it is a problem of asking for experience in every job application, but you will not gain experience if you cannot get a job.
If you want to learn more details, you can read the book Catch 22 by Joseph Heller or watch the 1970 film of the same name.
Have a good reading...
